Mumbai/IBNS: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Saturday wished all people of his country on the occasion of 74th Independence Day.

Kohli tweeted, "Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day! God bless our great nation and its countrymen especially the ones who are away from their families, fighting on the front lines to keep us safe. Jai Hind."

A low-key Independence Day celebration in the country took place on Saturday amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the nation from Red Fort in the national capital New Delhi, said the scientists of his country are working to produce three vaccines to treat the contagion.

"Not one or two, three vaccines are at different levels of trial in our country. As soon as the scientists will give a green signal, the production of the vaccines will begin," the PM said besides paying tributes to the Coronavirus warriors.
