Moscow, Apr 14 (Sputnik/UNI) A total of four people have been hospitalized after a shooting occurred on Sunday outside of a nightclub in Prahran, a suburb southeast of Melbourne, the police of the Australian state of Victoria said.

"Police and emergency services are investigating a shooting in Prahran on Sunday morning. Investigators believe multiple people were shot outside a night club near Little Chapel Street and Malvern Road about 3.20am [17:20 GMT on Saturday].

Four people have been transported to hospital. A 28-year-old man and a yet to be identified man are both critical.

A 50-year-old man and a 29-year-old man have both sustained non-life threatening injuries,” the police said in a statement.

The shooting incident could have been of a homophobic nature as in the area, where it has happened, many LGBTQ+ bars and nightclubs are located.
