If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will, says Donald Trump

Washington, Apr 3 (IBNS): Responding to nuclear threats from North Korea, US President Donald Trump has said that his government is going to take on the Kim Jong-un led nation, with or without the help of China.

In a recent interview with English daily Financial Times, Trump said, "If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all I am telling you."

"China has great influence over North Korea. And China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won't. And if they do that will be very good for China, and if they don't it won't be good for anyone," the US President added.

Trump had earlier tweeted on Mar 30 that the upcoming meeting with China is going to be a 'difficult one'.

"The meeting next week with China will be a very difficult one in that we can no longer have massive trade deficits," his tweet read.

"...and job losses. American companies must be prepared to look at other alternatives," an ensuing tweet added.

Meanwhile, defying several warnings and sanctions from international watchdogs, North Korea has continued its missile tests, raising tensions in the US and Japan, who fear an attack from the reclusive nation.
