ISIS releases video showing beheading of British hostage
Baghdad, Sept 14 (IBNS): Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has released a video message targeting the British government and "Allies of America" where they show the beheading of British aid worker David Haines.
David Haines, a 44-year-old father of two from Perth, was kidnapped in 2013 while working for the French agency ACTED.
The video message, which is of two minute and 27 second, released on Saturday entitled: "A Message to the Allies of America."
It opened with UK Prime Minister David Cameron talking about working with the Iraqi government and allied Kurdish Peshmerga forces to defeat Islamic State.
The victim then said: "My name is David Cawthorne Haines. I would like to declare that I hold you, David Cameron, entirely responsible for my execution."
He said Cameron had entered into a tie-up with the US against the Islamic State "just as your predecessor Tony Blair did".
"Unfortunately it is we the British public that in the end will pay the price for our parliament's selfish decisions," he said.
A masked man then spoke in the video, dressed in black and standing over Haines.
"This British man has to pay the price for your promise, Cameron, to arm the Peshmerga against the Islamic State," said he in a British accent.
Haines was shown kneeling and wearing an orange jumpsuit in the video.
The video then showed the beheading of Haines.
At the end of the video, another hostage named Alan Henning was shown and the masked man threatened that he would be killed if Cameron continues to support the fight against Islamic State.
British Prime Minister David Cameron has condemned the killing and called it a "an act of pure evil."
"The murder of David Haines is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to his family who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude," Cameron said in a statement.
He vowed to do anything to ensure justice is being done.
"We will do everything in our power to hunt down these murderers and ensure they face justice, however long it takes," said the British PM.
Meanwhile, United State President Barack Obama has also condemned that act.
"The United States strongly condemns the barbaric murder of UK citizen David Haines by the terrorist group ISIL," he stated.
Obama has also extended his support to the UK to fight the ISIS.
"The United States stands shoulder to shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve," the US President said.
" We will work with the United Kingdom and a broad coalition of nations from the region and around the world to bring the perpetrators of this outrageous act to justice, and to degrade and destroy this threat to the people of our countries, the region and the world," Obama said.
This comes after two US journalists were recently murdered in a similar circumstances.
