Moscow, May 12 (Sputnik/UNI) Over 900 Palestinians, including 133 minors and 23 women, were arrested by the Israeli forces in March-April 2019, the Palestinian Authority-run detainees and former detainees’ affairs commission revealed in a report on Sunday.

"The Israeli authorities arrested 905 Palestinians, including 133 minors and 23 women, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in March-April [2019]," the report said.

According to the document, the total number of those arrested reached 5,700 people, including 45 women and 250 minors.
At least 120 of those arrested were injured during the attempts by the Israeli forces to quell protests, the report said, adding that at least 20 of them were taken to hospitals.

Israeli-Palestinian ties have been strained for decades. Palestinians have been seeking diplomatic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which is partially occupied by Israel, and the Gaza Strip.
