Saudi-led coalition intercepts bomb-laden drone in Yemen

Riyadh, Jun 19 (Xinhua/UNI) The Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Wednesday the interception of a bomb-laden drone heading toward the kingdom, Al Arabiya TV reported.

The drone, launched from Yemen's eastern city of Hodeidah, was destroyed while flying past the northwestern province of Hajjah.

The Houthi's attacks against Saudi civilian sites have witnessed an increase in frequency and intensity in recent weeks.

Last week, 26 civilians were injured in a projectile attack that targeted Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport.

Saudi Arabia has been leading the war in Yemen for more than four years in support of the Yemeni exiled government against the Iran-allied Houthi rebels.
