Toronto, Jan 2 (IBNS): Cold waters of Lake Ontario did not deter more than 600 people who dared to take a dip in it this Sunday.

This event is known as Polar Bear Dip and is organized by Habitat for Humanity with the aim of raising money for the organization to help support low-income families.

Volunteers, sponsors and donors help the charity to build houses for the low-income families.

This event helped Habitat for Humanity to raise more than $65,000 as of Sunday evening.

Since 2005 the Toronto Polar Bear Club has raised almost $370,000 that had been utilized to build projects in Toronto.

This year’s Polar Bear Dip event was sponsored by Monster Plowing Company.
