Assam Rifles nab PLA cadre and busted extortion racket in Nagaland

Guwahati, Aug 13 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended a PLA cadre and busted an extortion racket in Nagaland.

Guwahati based Defence PRO Lt Col P Khongsai said that, based on specific information regarding the movement of PLA cadre in general area Chenmoho in Mon district, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and apprehended one cadre of Manipur based outfit PLA identified as Narendra Loithongbam.

The apprenhendee along with recovered items was handed over to Mon Police Station for further investigation.

Meanwhile,  based on specific input regarding extortion activity by cadres of GPRN NSCN (KN) in general area Ahthibung, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and apprehended Self Styled Lt Col Vitoye Sumi, SS Maj Hekaho Zhimo, SS Lt Paojangam Singon,   SS Sgt Lamkhup Singson and SS CPL Vikuto Chopy.

Extortion amount of Rs 20,000 in cash and other incriminating documents were recovered from them.

The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Ahthibung Police Station.
