ED issues summon to MNS chief Raj Thackeray in Kohinoor Mill case

Mumbai, Aug 19 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summon to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray in connection with Kohinoor Mill case and directed him to appear on August 22, party sources said on Monday.

The ED is probing IL&FS group’s loan and equity investment in Kohinoor CTNL. The investment is up to Rs 860 crore.

Kohinoor CTNL was founded by former Maharashtra chief minister Manohar Joshi’s son Unmesh Joshi.

In 2005, IL&FS, Unmesh and Raj Thackeray-owned Matoshree Construction jointly bid for the NTPC’s Kohinoor Mill for buying a 4.8-acre property for Rs 421 crore.
Mr Thackeray had subsequently exited the consortium in 2008.

The ED had earlier this month recorded the statements of senior officials from Kohinoor in the case.

The probe agency is questioning Unmesh in the case.
