Narendra Modi, Xi Jinping likely to meet in India this year

Kolkata, July 19 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to meet in India this year, said Zha Liyou, the Consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata, on Friday.

Liyou said this at an event themed as "Kolkata Women Change makers: Harboring Hope, Fostering Growth" here. The event was led by Chaitali Das, Social Entrepreneur, Reformist &Managing Trustee at Rakshak Foundation.

Xi is expected to visit India between September and December this year.

"This will be the second informal meeting between the two leaders," the Consul General said.

In April last year, Modi went to China to hold an informal meeting with the Chinese President.
