PM Modi extends wishes for the holy month of Ramzan

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to citizens at the start of Ramzan month.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote: “As the blessed month of Ramzan begins, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This sacred month epitomises reflection, gratitude and devotion, also reminding us of the values of compassion, kindness and service. Ramzan Mubarak!”

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting (sawm), prayer (salah), reflection, and community.

It is also the month when the Quran is believed to have been revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

The annual observance of Ramadan is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
