Will wait even till midnight for trust vote: Yeddy
Bengaluru, July 22 (IBNS): The Karnataka Assembly has been witnessing uproarious scenes with the Opposition blaming the government of delaying the trust vote.
Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar met chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday, a deadline issued by Kumar last week, and denied him more time for discussion.
The Assembly, for the third day running, debated the confidence motion moved by the CM with the Congress insisting that it not be put to vote till the chair decides on the resignations submitted by the rebel MLAs to the House.
"The leaders Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy had said that the voting will happen today. I am here till even 12 am. We will listen to everyone. We expect the vote at the end of it," said state BJP chief and former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who had earlier said Monday would be the last day of the Kumaraswamy government.
The BJP has accused the government of using lengthy speeches in the Assembly to delay a floor test it is certain to lose after 18 MLAs quit.
The JD(S)-Congress coalition has accused the BJP of trying to lure away MLAs to seize power.
